Mark’s Story

In mid-June 2021, Mark returned to Minnesota from Tanzania to check out some headaches and vision issues he was having.  Doctors diagnosed him with an aggressive brain tumor called glioblastoma based on a surgical biopsy.  We are looking for wisdom and praying for healing.  


We will use this site to keep family and friends updated in one place.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  ***Please be aware that donations made in the Tributes section go to the CaringBridge website, not to any specific cause of ours.  Thank you for visiting.

We have heard that many had trouble with streaming the service so we are very thankful to Ken Fitzer for providing an excellent recording that we can now share with you all.

Memorials are welcome to groups dear to Mark: Operation Bootstrap Africa (Mark and Linda Jacobson Endowed Scholarship for medical training in Tanzania); Global Health Ministries (for the Selian Hospice in Arusha); or the Foundation for Cancer Care in Tanzania (Brain Cancer Initiative at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center).
