Hi Family and Friends,
I just wanted to provide an update and let everyone know that I am doing great. My viruses have cleared, my WBC and RBC are in normal range and my platelets were at 124 on Friday! Other than some mild rashes, I have had no side effects from my son's stem cells. My body seems to be adapting well to his cells and my doctor decided to start weening me off my immune suppression medication over the next 4 months. We expect that my body will continue to accept his cells as my own and will continue to recover nicely. I'm doing so well my doctor said I don't need to return for a follow up for 4 weeks! What a blessing that I don't have to make that 1-2 hour long drive each way, every Friday.
My family and I have so many plans this summer to travel and make memories. I was cleared to get my Covid shots again and I got my first one last week with no side effects. Of course, I will be very cautious, per my doctors orders. It is great to be able to make plans and not have to worry about scheduling around transfusions and appointments.
Work is keeping me busy, but that's a good thing. I will continue to work from home and will start doing a little traveling around Southern California soon.
