Curt’s Story

Site created on July 30, 2010

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.

In July of 2010, Curt was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer.  After having 2 surgeries and 8 chemo treatments, Curt is currently in remission.  Unfortunately, he has had various health issues - GI Bleed, High Blood Pressure, Headaches, Migraines, Seizures, Diabetes, Diverticulitis, and Chest Pains.  This has resulted in several hospital stays, numerous ER visits and multiple trips to various doctors.

We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place as we continue on our journey.  Thank you for visiting Curt's site.  We truly appreciate your prayers, notes of encouragement, and for clicking that special 'heart' button.  You are a blessing to our family.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Joni Setzer

Curt and I are sorry for the lack of updates on our family.  We've been busy and have a few updates to share with you.

Curt continues to become easily tired throughout the day.  He has an appointment with his nephrologist (Dr. Fassler) and his urologist (Dr. Matthews) in the next several weeks. Curt will be getting his Hopefully his PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) level will be within the normal range when we see Dr. Matthews.

A few weeks ago, I (Joni) broke my right foot.  I slipped and fell on some wet leaves and broke my 5th metatarsal bone.  I’ve been wearing a boot and will go back to the doctor in the next couple of weeks to see if my foot has healed properly.

We do have some good news to share..... we have been able to find a permanent place to live.  Curt and I have been busy getting settled into our new home.

Praises and prayer requests:

1.  Praise that Curt and I were able to find a permanent place to live.

2.  Please pray that Curt’s upcoming doctor appointments goes well and that his PSA level will be within the normal range.

3.  Please pray that my right foot is healing properly when I see the doctor in the next several weeks.

Thank you so very much for your continued prayers for our family.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.  1 Thessalonians 5:18
