Curtis’s Story

Site created on March 24, 2021

Hi all.  Thanks for supporting me in my journey with colorectal cancer.  It’s been quite a ride, but I’m extremely lucky and blessed in many ways.  A few journal entries below to keep everybody updated.  Much love, Curtis.

Journal entry by Curtis Snyder

Great news.  No chemo needed!  The pathology came back as P2-N0. P is the distance the tumor penetrated into the wall and N is nodes.  None of the nodes they took came back positive, which means that the cancer was only in the tumor and had not yet traveled to other parts of my body.  That officially puts it as a Stage 1 cancer and no further treatment is needed.  I will undergo some genetic testing to see if we can figure out why I got cancer. I will have periodic blood tests and need a colonoscopy every year for a bit, but the surgery got all the cancer!

Kami and I realize how lucky we are and we are also so grateful for all the support we’ve received from so many.  It will be paid forward anyway we can.  But a huge sigh of relief right now and I can focus on the remaining weeks of my recovery from surgery.
