Journal entry by Todd Mulville —
Faithful friends and family,
Crystal is doing great! Praise God! Crystal's doctor recently approved a short visit (with precautions) to the Texas Hill Country. We got away for a few days and it was a much needed change of scenery.
Crystal's mom, Carlene, had just finished taking a photo of us standing between lawn banners 'Hope' and 'Healing' at Christ Redeemer Fellowship in Granite Shoals, TX. Afterwards, Carlene stated a simple yet powerful truth, "This is where we stand."
We stand in hope, not circumstantially, but faith fueled and grace given hope as explained in Romans 5:1-5, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."
On February 2nd, Crystal reached a significant 100 day milestone (post second transplant)! To mark the occasion, we were required to attend a MDA Survivorship Consult. We were reminded that stem cell transplant recovery is a very lengthy recovery process. The medical community wants us to think of recovery in terms of months and years vs days and weeks. Personally, we prefer to rename the session, Thrivership Consult, and focus on being in the moment.
As we continue our journey to full recovery, may this update find you standing, in faith with grace, between His 'Hope' and His 'Healing' in your journey. For in so doing, scripture promises we won't be disappointed.
As always, we're so grateful for your continued love, prayers and support!
