Newest Update

Journal entry by Crys Gorman

It's been about 3 months since my final reconstruction surgery, and we have just returned from our official Cancer-Free celebration trip to Disney World! Of course, if you follow me on social media, you are already well aware of our Disney adventures (sorry not sorry for clogging up your feed with fireworks and Mickey waffles!).

So now what? Well the treatments may be over, but the story God is writing in our lives certainly isn't. Besides the next steps in my beat-cancer plan (more on that later), God has some other next steps that He wants me to take as we begin to turn the corner and start writing the next chapter of life.

And I mean that both figuratively, and literally! God has done so much in this past season, turns out it's enough to write a book! I feel quite strongly that this battle that Satan intended for evil, God intends to use it for something good. No...something great. No...something exceedingly and abundantly more than I can ask or imagine.

Because of that, I feel called to write a book and begin sharing my story. Maybe there's even some sort of ministry to cancer warriors and survivors down the road. Whatever it is, I hope that maybe my story can help those going through really difficult times, whether it's cancer or something else.

But there's one more thing...I need your help! If you are reading this, you have been part of Team Crys, a support system that has been unmatched during our greatest time of need. You have had courtside seats to the journey and I want you to continue to be a part of it because it's not over...after all, we're finally getting to the good part!

I've just started a blog at crysgorman.com, and I would love for you to subscribe to it. I will continue to post updates on the blog about my health, my struggles, my victories, and of course the book progress and the new things God is doing in my life.

It's a therapeutic step for me...Caring Bridge has been good to me during this season, but I'm ready to start being the kind of person who doesn't need a Caring Bridge anymore. But I very much hope and pray you will continue the journey with me through the blog instead!

To subscribe, go to www.crysgorman.com and enter your email in the box that says "subscribe", and you're in! (on a desktop, it's on the left hand side, on a mobile device it's at the bottom). I won't be sending you mass emails or anything like that...I'm not that sophisticated. It will just notify you when there's a new update, just like Caring Bridge has done, and it's your way to tell me that you are still praying, still supporting, and still part of this journey. And if you want to comment every now and again, it makes my day!

I am beside myself with gratitude for the love and support we have been shown during my fight, and now the journey continues into a season of celebration for all that God has done!

"You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever." -Psalm 30: 11-12
