Sign In to Show Your SupportOn the afternoon of Thursday, May 3rd, the apartment attached to the house in which we live suffered a devastating fire. Thankfully, no one in our family was home. We were very lucky to have only suffered smoke damage in the house, as the fire reached the space between the roof and our kitchen ceiling. Unfortunately, we will have to move out. We had planned to buy the house from our landlady this summer.
Friday afternoon, we were extremely lucky to have found a camp (for all you non-Vermonters, in this case, camp is what the rest of you would call a seasonal cottage) on the Georgia Shore to stay until we find a permanent home.
We have collected a few car-fulls of things, but haven’t begun clean up or remediation just yet. The girls have been up and down emotionally, but had a fairly good day today. This camp is growing on them.
Our little town has been amazing with friends and strangers helping or offering to help; we are truly humbled.
