Craig’s Story

Site created on September 11, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. It was a challenging month of August, I started to notice weight loss - only partially explained by a change in appetite, increased dizziness with changes of position,  then at the end of the month, blood tests that showed I was anemic, but no explanation as to why. It did help explain my lack of energy and overall feeling of blah! My better half kept urging me to get seen, but the nurse in me was reluctant to “just go into the ED”. Turns out that sometimes you have to be your own advocate.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Craig Brandt

So I was able to get the two most recent CT scans compared and the VA issued a report. Some small change/increase in the size of my spleen, sight of a previous tumor. The other tissue changes should be monitored by my primary care. By watching my calorie intake I was able to knock off 15 lbs, so despite no energy or real exercise I am closer to my ideal weight. So life goes on, more appointments at the VA for physical therapy IVIG. Ultrasounds, and more. As we return to normal, keep your family and friends close! Prayers for all!
