Journal entry by Alison Freeman —
We had a follow-up visit with MD Andersen today. An in-person visit for the end of April is what we are planning for right now. Their oncologist was encouraged to see how Courtney has responded to the chemo and he is wanting to continue an aggressive treatment plan for her cancer. She will have a day of testing followed by a day of doctor appointments when we get to Houston.
She has felt really good for several days now; her headaches have pretty much disappeared. She has a good appetite but struggles finding food that tastes “like it’s supposed to.”
What works one day doesn’t the next. 🤷♀️🤪 It’s been such a blessing to have had several days that have felt so “normal”!
Thank you all for your continued prayers on Courtney’s behalf! I believe we are seeing those prayers answered with how she has responded to treatment and how she has recovered her strength after some really tough days.
One prayer request we have is that someone will be allowed to accompany her to all of the appointments at MD Andersen. That second set of eyes and ears in so invaluable at these appointments!
For this week, we are planning for chemo on Wednesday and Neupogen shots on Thursday and Friday. (I never thought I would become fluent in so many medical terms!)
