Journal entry by Akisha Maddox —
Hi, it’s Akisha here, Tonts wife. I found the caring bridge and decided to start this page for him. Tont has access to this page and will eventually journal and write updates himself.
As many of you know, Tont was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May of 2018. His current treatment regimen is chemotherapy every other week. It’s a very, very strong chemotherapy, that we are hoping shrinks the tumor in the pancreas. The tumor is inoperable at this time.
Tont is scheduled to start radiation at the end of January 2019. He will have radiation 5 days a week at Mass General and will live at the Hope House in Boston for approximately 6 weeks.
I am so very grateful that the treatment will start after the holidays, but I am a little anxious as how our family will function without our anchor. Tont is a very hands on dad.
