Sarah’s Story

Site created on May 30, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

Sarah's cancer diagnosis has come as a shock to everyone close to her. The appointments, diagnosis, surgeries have been frequent and with the upcoming chemo treatments, she has a long road ahead of her still. With God in her heart, and a strong mind, she is taking everything in stride with poise, strength, and grace. She has moments of discouragement, but is quick to find a game plan.

On May 1st, Sarah unexpectedly went to the ER for abdominal pain in her right side, only to learn that she had tumors on her left ovary. She underwent a laproscopic biopsy the next day. On May 6, she received the results from the biopsy: Ovarian cancer. May 15, Sarah had an invasive surgery where doctors removed all visible cancer: her left ovary, small parts of her right ovary, her appendix (where the cancer had spread), and two lymph nodes in the event it had spread that far. May 22, doctors shared the results from the biopsy of her appendix. She does require chemotherapy.
