Journal entry by Dora Haynes

So I know it's been a long time since I added anything to this page, but here's the situation as of today....it's been a long, hard and exhausting road to get to this point but here it is...after 2 types of Chemotherapy and the rounds of Radiation the current full body scan results are that the cancer in the original site has been defeated that part is now considered "in remission" (or quiet as the doctor puts it)....this is WONDERFUL news and Connie is very happy about this.... however, unfortunately the liver did not respond to treatment and has grown from 2cm to 11cm and is in need of quick attention/treatment....today we had our visit with the specialist that will be treating her.
What is going to happen (in easy terms) is that they will be going directly into the tumor via the vessels in the liver, they will be putting in micro-beads of radiation which will kill the tumor from the inside, this will be less taxing on the rest of the liver and should have less side effects. The first part of this treatment will be on Nov 21st, as they will be doing a "test-run" and if all looks good the real stuff will be done on Nov 27th....from there it will be bi-weekly blood test to make sure all is going as planned.
Once again I want to thank you all for your support during this trying time, and especially at HUGE THANK YOU to ALL that have made a monetary gift to her fund. I can't express enough how that has made this battle less stressful. Connie and myself are so grateful. So if you can please keep her in your prayers.
She will continue to fight for a positive outcome and I'll be here to see her though.
