Connie’s Story

Site created on February 7, 2011

My daughter, Connie Foster, has been diagnosed with colon cancer.  A colonoscopy at MD Anderson on November 14, 2018 revealed a 3 cm malignant mass in the upper left section of her colon.  On January 8, 2019, Connie underwent colon surgery in Texas. They did a re-section of the colon and, while in there, the surgeon found 2 spots on her liver that were removed and biopsied. These were also cancer.  Connie will begin chemo treatments at Greenville Cancer Institute in SC on February 12, 2019. She will have 12 treatments, lasting 6 months.

Connie's history:
In May 2004, Connie was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer (right breast) following the birth of her first child. She underwent extensive chemotherapy, surgery and radiation that year and into 2005.  She did well in the years following that.
Then in January 2011, she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer (left breast) AND sarcoma - a very large mass located under her right arm and side which was caused from the radiation that she had in  2005.  It was at that time that she was referred to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas where she underwent chemotherapy for several months followed by a 14-hour surgery in August 2011. She continued to travel to MD Anderson every 3 months for routine scans and tests.
In May 2014, she was diagnosed with cancer of the parotid gland. Surgery was done at that time to remove the parotid gland.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Angela Bolin

I just want to give you all a quick update. Connie is still doing good. She will be returning to MD Anderson next week for appointments with several of her oncologists and also for CT scans and blood work. Please keep her and Darryl in your prayers. Pray for the children as well.

Thank you for your prayers. God bless.

Love,
Angela
