Colleen’s Story

Site created on October 10, 2019

Welcome to my CaringBridge website.  I will be using this to keep everyone updated on my health journey.  I have moved the 'Google Sheet' tasks to this site's 'Ways to Help' page to have everything in one place.

On September 10th, 2019, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after having surgery to remove a large tumor on my left ovary, my omentum (sheeting over bowel), and my appendix.  A lot has happened since then but at the same time nothing has happened.  I have switched to Penn Medicine for my treatment so there is time being spent repeating tests/bloodwork, getting a correct diagnosis, and filling out paperwork and questionnaires but nothing has moved forward yet in terms of an action plan.

A Go Fund Me page has also been created...

Journal entry by Colleen McCloskey

I’m home and it feels good!  I’m all set to start radiation again tomorrow and both of my follow-up doctors appointments are for Wednesday the 24th…Urologist in morning.(Virtua) and then GI/ostomy in the afternoon in city (Penn).  I’m not making any decision about the urine tubes/bags until after those appointments.

Thanks again for all the well wishes and visits in the hospital!  Glad to know I have so many people in my corner.
