Kevin’s Story

Site created on December 30, 2020

On Saturday, Dec 19th, I took Kevin to the hospital with severe abdominal pain/jaundice. Within 12 hours, we were told there appeared to be a stone in his bile duct, as well as a suspicious area on his pancreas. Kevin had his first procedure on Monday, Dec 21. Following that procedure, his doctor and staff came to his room to tell us they did not find a stone, but cancer. They were unable to look at the pancreas that day, so another surgery was scheduled for the next day. Following surgery, the team came to the consultation room to tell me they took a sample and saw this too was cancer. Kevin’s team of doctors met today, Dec 30, and will share information with him at 9 am on Dec 31 to confirm a diagnosis and to discuss a treatment plan. Because Kevin has so many people that love him, I thought this would be the best way to communicate to everyone as I will post updates as we know them. As of today, we believe it is bile duct cancer, but we will know for sure in the morning. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers ❤️🙏🏼* I  should add the donations to caring bridge are not donations to our family, but strictly for them. Depending on treatment plan, we may pursue a gofundme at a later time.
