Journal entry by Lanette Rajski —
This is pretty much how we've spent the last month. Sometimes I get worried and wonder if I need to call 911, but most of the time I know that his body and his nervous system need time to heal. I am grateful we have a quiet, calm place for him to do that. I can't imagine that he was homeless and living on the streets while this disease was wreaking havoc on his body. My Momma's heart just can't even be with that when I think it. Stress and heat are the number one triggers for flareups .. and you don't want a flareup because that's when the really bad, permanent damage happens.
(HA!! I was just sitting here typing this and he's been dead asleep for 8 hours ... and all of a sudden from the other room I here "SPORTS! BALLS! WE LOVE SPORTS" ... it was from a funny song we heard at the Judah and the Lion concert on my birthday. He cracks me up!)
