Journal entry by Mallory Holme

Grandpa is slowly settling in his new room but he is anxious to get home. He loves sharing stories with the staff about his Minneapolis Moline tractors.
Grandmas surgery was mostly  successful. Fixators came out with no problem, stomach port went in good but they couldn’t get the port into the intestines. So over the weekend they are going to  try and stomach tube feed her and see if this will work. If this doesn’t work within a couple days the doctor said he will have to take Grandma back into surgery and try again.  Once she was out of surgery and was awake she was demanding ice chips and some painkillers for his shoulder. The doctor will be in sometime this morning to try the feeding tube and speech therapist will be coming in and they said if her speech was good they could give her a glass of cold milk.
