Clay ’s Story

Site created on May 26, 2020

After feeling under the weather for over a week I took Clay to the ER in Brookings Sat the 23rd. After some blood work the ER dr said that there was an issue with his white blood count, it was too high. They immediately said they were transferring us to SF. Clay was put on the chopper and taken to The Children's Castle, this is where they confirmed Clay had Leukemia on Sat May 23.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Annitta Misar

Here is finally the update we have been waiting and praying for. Clay's spinal fluid and bone marrow are clear and are back to normal for his age!! He is producing his own T cells and his bone density is good. The lung/breathing tests were better than last year. All good news. The best news us he doesn't have to have any more spinal taps or bone marrow procedures. He will be transferred from the peds Bone Marrow Transplant team to a Long Term Care team that will follow him for life.
He does still have high iron but it's not concerning to the Dr's. We will continue monthly phlebotomy treatments in SF and still go to MPLS every 6 months for scans.
Thank you thank you to everyone who has been praying for him. It's been a long road but I feel that he is finally in a good safe place. God is great!
