Claudia’s Story

Site created on August 13, 2021

Bria and I want to thank everyone for your prayers, positive thoughts, and encouragement during this very difficult time. Claudia, Bria and I are so lucky and blessed to have every one of you in our lives lifting us up. We have decided to create a site to help update our amazing family and friends with Claudia’s process during this long journey. This way people can come here for medical and general updates and information pertaining to all of Claudia’s progress. Please keep texting and calling your support, strength and words of encouragement as we know we will need it during this process and are absolutely grateful when you do send your thoughtful words and thoughts. We are also hoping to use this as a journal to share with Claudia during her recovery, so that when she is ready she can see and process everything she went through and your kind words of encouragement.  We again are grateful to have you all in our lives and appreciate everyone’s support and words of hope and encouragement. We are so fortunate to have so many wonderful people in our lives.

Unfortunately at this moment there are no visitors allowed other than immediate family. Please don’t send any flowers, etc. to the hospital. However, you can send cards to the hospital for us to read to Claudia and decorate her room with.

I know we are all struggling to think of ways to help and support BB&C at this time. If you are looking for ways to help some of Claudia’s friends have set up a meal train (https://mealtrain.com/o14991) so B&B don’t have to worry about cooking and we don’t have to worry if they are eating. If you are not able to participate in the food train, but are looking for a way to help, you can also make a donation here (https://gofund.me/990acfd4) to help with meals, cleaning, cost of parking, etc. Please don’t stop sending Bria and Brandon all the love and support via text and calls. Your strength and prayers mean so much to them and are lifting them up during this difficult time.
Big hugs and lots of love to you all,
Nadine (B’s Sister, Little B’s Aunt)

Journal entry by Brandon Silverman

Hello Team Claudia,

After Bria's and my move out of our Natchez place this past Sunday and settling into a new reality, I wanted to take a second and thank every one of you who took the time out of the start of your Labor Day weekends to come in person or join us via zoom for Claudia's Celebration of Life this past Friday. Claudia was certainly blessed to have known so many of you. Irma, Bria and I are also very grateful to have met you as we shared memories of Claudia and we thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and sharing of your own memories of her with the family. You are all amazing people and C would have been humbled to know she was so loved by so many; but it is the strength in which you have all helped our family to dig deep and find, and continue to keep alive, that she would have been the most impressed with and grateful for. You have been our lights with your kindness and generosity throughout this darkness, and because of that help and strength to lean on, we know that there is hope and light as we continue to push forward into our family's new chapter of life. No question Claudia will continue to be missed and mourned by many, but as long as we continue to push her legacy that was built on pillars of love, strength, and generosity, I know that her legacy and her memories will continue to care on though us.

For those that would like to support the family in continuing C's legacy, Team C continues to memorialize Claudia in other ways throughout these next few months:

  • Next month Oct 9th, family and extended family/friends are running in the Abbott 5K posted here for those that would like to participate https://events.hakuapp.com/abbott-chicago-5k.
  • We are also planning on making shirts regarding brain physical health (CT screenings) and mental health awareness in order to help in any way of preventing this happening to other individuals and families, more info to come on that.
  • The other way to support at the moment is also through our site as well dedicated to C. If you feel the desire to help, please consider contributing in this meaningful and significant way, as well as reposting the GoFundMe Link https://gofund.me/990acfd4

Claudia loved and appreciated you, and our family and I loves and appreciates you. Thank you all as we continue to choose to keep our strength and our heads high as Claudia would have wanted it no other way.

Stay strong Team Claudia,

B
