Journal entry by Becky Noell —
Good afternoon, folks.
I got an update from Mom today. She and Dad met this week with Dr. Gregory Mitro, MD, radiation oncology specialist at Southeast Radiation Oncology Group PA at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Originally, we thought radiation treatments would be five weeks, but it's now going to be six. Each treatment will only take about 20 minutes and will be here in Salisbury. There will be five treatments per week (weekdays) for six weeks. We were hoping she would be done with radiation before our family beach trip at the end up July. It won't be.
Radiation won't start until AFTER the beach! Mom will be at full energy for a great week without being worn down by six weeks of radiation.
There won't be a sign-up list for meals this time. I'm not sure how it works exactly, but I think radiation will give Mom the power to heat up microwavable meals just by staring at them really hard.
Thoughts and prayers are always coveted. Y'all are the best!
