Please pray for this next MRI to show Chuck's tumor shrinking and no new cancer.  Also we will meet with a different doctor before chemo on Thursday.  He is running the trials for Chuck's mutation ERBB2 and will let us know if Chuck qualifies to try this newer medicine.

Thank you for your prayers as we are now running a full resort!  Our kids each came to help with this, and we thank God for them!

Pray also for the resort will provide opportunities to share with our guests that God is the author of life and death and no one knows what will happen tomorrow, but we know how to prepare with the peace and confidence in Jesus.  Thank you, Jane, for sharing this verse from Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit!”   We are filled with hope!  Embrace today and live for Jesus!

Today Chuck met with his doctor who explained that the plan is to continue immunotherapy and chemo with the hopes that the lung tumors shrink enough to use radiation on them in the fall.  There is a trial opening for the mutation that Chuck has (ERBB2) on Monday and Chuck's name will be on the list.  However until the immunotherapy and chemo stops working the doctor feels we should continue on this path.   Next session will be July 12.
Paul says in Philippians 1:9 "So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately...and as Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as yourself!"

Please pray for both Chuck and I as we help families enjoy time at Zauggs Resort and share God's faithfulness through this adventure of cancer. We want to love well as we embrace God's plan for our lives.  Summer provides many opportunities!  Thank you for taking the time to read and pray for us.

Chuck has caught a bad summer cold with a cough that was heading for pneumonia.  We went to the emergency room and got antibiotics and an inhaler early this morning.  God reminds us our need to be proactive and take care of ourselves as we trust Him to heal and strengthen.   Living each day fully as we love well is seen in how we handle some of these issues.  Thank you for praying.  Our resort is doing well and we thank God for wonderful guests.  Next Wednesday we head back to Rochester Mayo for another chemo treatment.  Enjoy your summer and keep learning to Love Well!

Praying Chuck will feel better for his next chemo treatment. His bronchitis is better, but he still has lots of mucous in his lungs. Zauggs Resort has been full and our guests have been great!  The nice weather and beautiful lake along with the loons and eagles remind us God is in charge!  Embrace today!

We just left Mayo Clinic with Dr Mansfield’s encouragement to go and enjoy vacation together! He checked Chucks lungs and felt the bronchitis will not affect his chemo and treatment #6 went well. Please continue to pray for the nauseousness to subside and for complete healing! Next visit is August 9 when the plan is to do another chest scan to evaluate how well the chemo is attacking the cancer.

Thank you also for praying for our visits with guests. We thank God for so many wonderful friends and so many opportunities to share Gods goodness and His faithfulness! Please also pray for protection and our good friends who are handling things while we are gone.

How can we pray for you? Embrace today! Watch God work and join Him!!

Chuck and I had a great vacation and are heading to Mayo Thursday to see how this last chemo treatment is fighting his cancer.  He continues to fight this bronchitis with a cough and congestion along with sore throat.  This scan will give Dr Mansfield a direction with how best to treat him.  We continue to pray the tumors will be smaller with no new cancer!  Psalms 32 offers us great hope as we trust God's plan:  You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you…the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him. Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous;    sing, all you who are upright in heart!   Thanks for joining us in praying for wisdom and healing.

The Catscan showed no new cancer and tumors have not grown. We were hoping they had shrunk but. Thanking God they have not grown. Slow and steady as we had another chemo and will continue trusting God has this! Thanks for all your notes and prayers!

We are SO THANKFUL for our many guests here at the resort this summer and God’s provisions in every detail! We have shared our journey with so many families and felt so much love!! Our trip to Alaska was one place Chuck really wanted to visit and all went well both on the trip and at the resort while we were gone. Chuck is handling this chemo well with a limited amount of nauseousness and fatigue. Please keep praying for those tumors to get smaller and to go away! Thank you all for your support, your many words of kindness, and your love!

Chuck and I are thankful for each of you praying for him as he received his 8th round of chemo. He is doing really well and feels this last three weeks was the easiest yet. Zauggs Resort is slowing down from a full summer season and many wonderful visits. Chucks next appointment will include a MRI to see how the brain tumor is reacting to the Gamma Knife last February. Please keep praying for healing!

Backwoods Laser Specialties helped make a granite plaque to honor Chucks life. It is displayed in his Memorial Gazebo floating here at Zauggs Resort. Please come visit and take time to share memories with me as we sit and overlook his Northwoods Paradise.
