Thursday at 12:30 Chuck has his 2 month brain check with an MRI down in Marshfield.  He had the Gamma Knife 2 months ago and our prayer is that the original tumor has shrunk and there are NO OTHER signs of cancer!  Thank you for praying with us!  We believe and want to glorify our Jesus!

John 14 says “Do not let your hearts be troubled, you believe in God; believe also in Me! … I am the Way the Truth and the Life.  No one comes to the Father except by Me… Whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing and even greater than these for I go to the Father and I will do whatever you ask in My Name so the Father may be glorified in the Son.  Ask for anything and I will do it!   Peace I leave with you!  My peace I give to you!  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.  Remain in Me!”

Thanks team for praying!  Dr Lawler was surprised that the original tumor had shrunk so much!  There was no sign of cancer anywhere in Chuck's brain!  We did a high five and "Thank You God" in his office!  We move forward and are now planning a "getaway" for just the two of us!  Celebrating God's goodness to us!  Blessings to all and again THANK YOU~!

thanks so much for all your prayers. We have had time to left away and live life together without all the chemo stuff for a couple weeks. Romans 4 reminds us of Abrahams faith that even though his body was as good as dead Gods promises are true and this  offers us hope!  Romans 8 reminds us this hope is based on the power of the Spirit to take our lives and let them become adventurously lived watching for where God takes us!  We have had time to take another adventure together and love living life with each other. We thank God for this time together!

Doctor was happy with Chuck's blood count and chemo treatment 3 went well.  He is concerned with the fluid he is retaining and has scheduled an EKG and visit to heart doctor before the chest scan May 22-23.  Pray that his heart is strong and also for the scan to show cancer disappearing! We also were able to visit family and had special times together!  Our daughter Jinelle's little boy Colden fell and broke his femur putting him in a body cast so we pray for his bones to heal also! Embracing life and trusting God as we worship Him and focus on Him gives us direction day to day!  Pray also for wisdom with the resort and upcoming summer season.
Romans 12 has encouraged us:
offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. .. embrace the life God has given us as we remain joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."

Heading to Mayo Clinic this morning to see what the chemo along with all the prayers are doing to Chuck’s cancer!  Because of some swelling and fluid retention he has an appointment with heart doctor and EKG this afternoon. Tomorrow he has his first catscan to see how his lungs and chest have reacted to the last 4 months of chemo. We pray the cancer is gone! We pray his heart is strong!  Thank you for praying with us.

Catscan showed some decrease in size of cancer in lung. Lymph nodes are a bit larger but he thinks that may be a result from the immuno therapy and is not worried about it. Doctor says we are heading the right direction. He is keeping in mind a trial for the ERBB2 mutation after a few more chemo cycles. We need to keep praying for wisdom and feel encouraged that we have the right doctor. Thank you all for praying!

This morning we want to stop and just share our thanks to you all for so many prayers and notes of encouragement!  Chuck is much encouraged by these and the doctor visits these last two days have also lifted his hopes of a longer life.  God continues to use His Word and in Philippians 1 the Message reminds us  “Love much and love well!  Live a lover’s life; a life Jesus will be proud of bountiful in fruits from the soul making Jesus Christ attractive to all getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God”.  We thank God for each of you and are moving forward with chemo number 4 continuing to pray it kills the cancer!  We are very busy preparing our resort for a full summer and thank our kids for each coming with their families to help us this spring!  We have had special family time.  Jeff is even bringing a few friends today to put the docks in!  We are truly thankful.  God bless each of you. You are involved in this adventure and we pray you see God's glory here as we praise Him for He is in charge.

Chemo leaves Chuck stomach sick and tired, especially the 3rd-10th days.  Jeff brought a couple friends who really helped out by putting the docks in the water and all the beach chairs along with rafts and more to prepare for Memorial Day weekend.  So thankful!  Please keep praying for Chuck to feel better!  We thank God it has not been as bad as it could be and so thankful for the help with the resort summer transition!

Tennis has started and even though this round of chemo has been the toughest Chuck is playing and loving his tennis!  Our five rental homes are full and we are now preparing to pack up and move out of The Lodge for a full summer of guests there soon!  We thank God for strength to take each day and watch Him fill our lives with strength and purpose!  Embrace today and see how God is enough!  We continue to look ahead to the possibility of joining a trial and hope to find that out June 21 with another MRI June 20.  Please pray with us for the tumor to have shrunk in Chuck's head and no more cancer there!
We had a friend tragically die last month, Pastor Gary Dixon, and are reminded that life is fragile for ALL of us!  His wife Cheryl is holding close to Jesus as she claims the truth in the Bible that our Lord cares and even in our difficult times we believe in Him.  Worship fills her life and strengthens her.  This music video says it all as in our path of cancer and in all the people we see we hang on to believing in Jesus!  We hope you will be blessed  as you listen.  Thank you our friends!

Backwoods Laser Specialties helped make a granite plaque to honor Chucks life. It is displayed in his Memorial Gazebo floating here at Zauggs Resort. Please come visit and take time to share memories with me as we sit and overlook his Northwoods Paradise.
