Journal entry by Trish Saeger

Chuck continues to improve!  He actually got on the treadmill for 5 minutes last night.  He is starting to get a little stir crazy but it’s a few weeks before he can leave the house (except for the weekly trips to the doctor.). I think he will really start building up strength over this next month and by the time the weather is nice he should feel better than he has felt in years!  He is so looking forward to playing golf and fishing and not feeling exhausted after just an hour.

Ryan got the nicest thank you note from his recipient.  He is a 48 year old father of 2 young girls and a special education teacher.  He has been on dialysis since 2014.  He stated that not only did Ryan make his life so much better but he also helped all the kids he will be teaching for years to come.  And that now his daughters could feel hopeful their dad would be there to walk them down the aisle.  It was so special to receive the note, for Ryan to know that not only is Chuck’s life and really our entire family’s life better because of him, but a whole group of strangers as well.
