I live down the street from Chuck. I met Chuck and Jan while walking my dogs by their house each day and my golden retriever "Penny" was instantly attracted to Chuck! I'm sure it wasn't because he always had treats on hand either! Whenever it was nice enough outside he would be sitting on the porch watching the passers by and saying hi to everyone. Me and dogs would stop by and chat and see how everyone was doing. He always had plenty of time to talk. We even had dinner at the house one day, with the dogs there! He was always nice and was proud of being a veteran. He will be missed. To this day when I walk pass the house with my dogs my dog Penny still looks up at the porch to see if he is there with those tasty treats and some kisses! Was great knowing you Chuck!

I also never met Pastor Raup yet knowing his son Glenn, I can confidently say He was a great person. A person who raises a son like Glenn with all his morals and values can be nothing but an a honorable man. I am sure his memory will always be there and he is around us proud of what he left behind, A great Wife and Son. God bless his soul and may he have a much better life in paradise. Amen.

Although I never got to meet Pastor Raup, I was able to form a good impression of him through knowing his son, Glenn. I always loved checking in with Glenn and hearing what his dad was up to. I would always hear the affection and respect he had for Pastor Raup and I was so encouraged and inspired hearing about the dedication he had to serving Christ and caring for students at the seminary. Seeing the integrity and character he instilled in his children let me know this was an honorable man. I have mixed feelings knowing he is at Peace in heaven with the Lord, and at the same time I share my condolences with his family over their loss.

We, Chi Eng and Kar-Shan, miss Chuck as our spiritual father, a wonderful brother in Christ, a mentor of wisdom and a dearest friend. We connected with Chuck when he put a sign in front of him: “NOT FOR SALE” during a garage sale for his daughter’s house. He loved people and had a great sense of humor. Since then, Chuck had been the mentor and the first reader for Chi Eng's dissertation of doctor of ministry at Denver Seminary. Even though Chuck was very serious and detailed about Chi Eng’s paper, he always spoke with kind words and sweet smile, “You have done a great job but it may be better if you………?”. Besides deepening Chi Eng’s thought and sharpening Chi Eng’s mind with insight, he often asked a very good question that provided a new, fresh perspective. In addition, Chuck wrote that “Chi Eng — my brother, my friend…Servants together, Chuck Raup” in his book Return to Eden for Chi Eng. Before the pandemic, Chi Eng always visited him on a weekly basis, every time he gave Chi Eng a big hug and said , “What’s going on, Buddy?…” He always was a man of encouragement.
He also was Chi Eng and Kar-Shan’s spiritual father. He cared about our relationship with God, our ministry, our health, our time of rest and our time for each other. From 2013 to 2018, Chi Eng and Kar-Shan did a lot of travel for ministry, he always prayed for us and eager to find out what had happened in each trip. During the pandemic, when Chi Eng and Kar-Shan visited him and Jan, he always sat in front of his house on the porch with sweet, big smiling. His smiles attracted many people. We enjoyed the hours of fellowship with him. We miss Chuck whom touched our lives endlessly. We are looking forwards to see him again in Heaven.

There was never a day when Chuck was out front on the porch that he wasn't smiling and enjoying time with all the company that came by! I know the girls always wanted to come home and get Frankie so they could stop by and he could give her a treat or two (or maybe three or four). I will miss the time talking, but look forward to catching up when we meet again in heaven!

Many wonderful memories of special times of fellowship and ministry together with Chuck, Jan and family come to mind. What a blessing it is to thank the Lord for His work through Chuck's life!
