Dear Chuck and Karen,
We are so sorry that these very difficult struggles continue. We also pray for you both daily. We pray that this graft-host disease will settle down soon, and you can eat and gain weight and feel better.
All our love, Roy and Bev

Hey Chuck and Karen,

It sounds like we're following similar challenges in the complications from cancer and it's treatment. I've been unable to swallow food for almost 3 years. Just recently I've been able to swallow soup, if it's prepared correctly. I've had a feeding tube surgically implanted through my abdomen. My wife pours this liquid stuff and my medications through the tube every four hour. Which of course is a horrible process with a long list of complications. My doctors talked as if it was not a big deal. If yours approach it the same way, do not believe them. Get in touch with me. It's a life changing medical treatment that can become a nightmare. On the other hand, children can go through this and have no problem. Mine has been a nightmare. My weight got down to 140 twice during this process (that was my weight in 10th grade). It was 190 before cancer treatment. I'm at 150 now and struggling to get up to my ideal weight of 175. Hang in these buddy. You're lucky to have the support of your family. It makes a huge difference. I would not have survived the first year if not for my wife and prayer. It's a tough road, but you can do it.

Best,

Steve
