Journal entry by Joel Faircloth —
We wanted to post one last update on Christine. Tomorrow is her LAST DAY OF RADIATION THERAPY!!! Relative to chemotherapy, the side effects have been pretty mild but she still isn't ready to run a marathon. The restoration of energy levels stalled out from radiation but she's at approximately 75-80 percent. She does have another surgery coming up on July 14 but it is elective and preventative so has no bearing on the fact that she is CANCER FREE!. Thanks so much to everyone (friends, family, coworkers) for all the support and prayers throughout this process. It started in January and I don't know if COVID has made it feel shorter or longer, but we are certainly ready to reemerge from isolation and visit others once Christine's immune system improves.
Outside of congratulating Christine, I want to ask a favor. Please keep my cousin's wonderful wife Julie Nicholson in your prayers. She is currently battling cancer with immunotherapy and while the technology has great potential, she is currently in the "eye of the storm".
Thanks again, when you are struck with unexpected challenges we look forward to being able to repay the support and love everyone has for us throughout this process.
