Journal entry by Louise the Stuffed Dog —
Dear Friends,
Our hero is doing WELL! His multiple myeloma is well-controlled by maintenance chemo and Dexamethasone, and he has spent the past 14 months caring for ME as I battle a fractured femur. Today marks the 4th surgery since the femur fractured spontaneously in November 2021. Chris has cared for me every step of the way (See what I did there?!), and will retire from HHS at the end of February. He has had a remarkable 38-year career in the Federal Government.
He feels good most days, only reporting occasionally that he "feels like a cancer patient." He continues his monthly lab work and Aredia infusions, which help improve his bone health.
He is scheduled to have a hip replacement in the late spring, and that should help with the pain and his limp.
Please call or email me for more regular updates!
