Chris’s Story

Site created on July 9, 2020

On June 19, 2020 our Dad went in to get treatment for a hernia and what they thought was also causing some health problems, his gallbladder. The Doctors had quickly noticed upon starting the surgery that our Dad had cancer spread throughout his abdomen, gallbladder and on one of his kidney's.

Immediately after receiving the news, he has been undergoing many tests, scans, procedures and days filled with Doctors appointments to find out what kind of cancer and where it originated from. On Thursday, June 25, the Doctors confirmed that the cancer is Adenocarcinoma.

Adenocarcinoma is a type of cancer that starts in mucus-producing glandular cells of the body. Because many organs have these glands, and the cancer has been found on a few of these organs, the Doctors are unsure of where it has originated from. In addition to running many tests to see where else there might be cancerous cells, the Doctors have decided to start our Dad on chemotherapy starting Wednesday, July 15.

We still have many unanswered questions such as what type of Adenocarcinoma (the origin), stage, duration, and other treatment options. We kindly ask that our friends and family use this site to connect with our family, offer support, post prayers, words of encouragement, and share fun memories you have with Chris. This will allow our family to focus on our Dad's health, calls and appointments with Doctors, and treatment days.

God is not done yet! He will continue to guide and lead both our family and the Doctor's, give us wisdom, peace and hope.
