Dearest friends and family members,

I hope and trust this finds you in the midst of a grace-filled Saturday!

During my appointment at The James on Thursday, one of the oncology coordinators who’s worked with transplant patients for 30 years said that she’s never seen a perfect 10/10 bone marrow match between siblings—that is, until she looked at my brother’s most-recent lab results. 

Glory, glory, hallelujah, dear saints! You prayed that God would supply a perfect match for me. And now that He has, He is wowing the staff members at The James.

With my transplant still slated to take place toward the end of May, I’ve got a couple prayer requests I’d like to share with you.

Firstly, after what will be a month-long admittance for the transplant, I’m being told I have to live in Columbus for an additional 80+ days, due to the number of complications that could arise during recovery. Would you please pray that God would provide me with a place to live—a place large enough for Lindsay and my kids to stay for a few days at a time (but isn’t financially crippling)?  We’re praying and trusting… and scouring Airbnb and Vrbo.

Secondly, despite the fact that my brother is a perfect 10/10 match, I’m still being told that the transplant is likely going to make me really sick for a few weeks. Would you please pray that God would prepare me for, and strengthen me throughout, whatever sickness I end up facing? And would you please pray that my brother’s bone marrow integrates seamlessly with my body?

Thank you, dear saints, for loving me enough to pray. Almighty is listening.
