Journal entry by Joyce Dorsey

Today was another whirlwind.  The speech therapist came and said she could see and feel his throat trying so hard to swallow.  Sometimes it is his meds, sometimes his food and a lot of the time his salvia. He is so embarrassed because he drools constantly.  He keeps a cloth to his mouth constantly wiping it away.  Chris has been to a doctor several times to get Botox injected into his jaw on both sides and around the temple area.  The first time seemed to help, the second time not as much and the third time hardly none at all.  Robin, the speech therapist will be visiting him twice a week for six weeks.  A new PT lady was here today as well.  Very, very nice.  She helped him walk through the house and then took him outside to walk a bit.  She will be coming back the same amount of time as Robin.  Between the ladies yesterday and today, they convinced him he needs to use his walker in the house and out and for what I think was the first time, he took all of his meds. He hates to take them because it takes him so long to swallow.

Chris is strong and a fighter.  With all of the prayers you all are sending up for us and all I am saying, he is finally coming around. Good night my sweet prince and goodnight to you all.  Joyce
