Cheryl’s Story

Site created on January 14, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.  As our mom/wife begins her bone marrow transplant at Jefferson, this will be a central location for friends and family to check for updates on her progress.  Cheryl has her final clearance appointment this Thursday (1/17/19), and then she will be checked into the hospital within the week to begin the process.  We will all do our best to answer texts/calls, but just in case things get hectic, please check here too.  We appreciate all of your love and support, and Cheryl most certainly does too!  Sincerely, Stephen, Rachel, and Emily

So sorry it has been such a long time! I am definitely on the road back to “normal”. I can’t believe that it is seven weeks ago today that I received the transplant. I have come so so far (even my hair is growing in a tiny bit!!). My blood work at last doctors visit showed good progress. I go back on 3/28 - doctor thinks I will be able to return to work by 4/15.
I still need to avoid crowds but I have been venturing out to uncrowded places in my mask and with my hand sanitizer readily available. I have been to the grocery store twice @ 7:00 am! What a treat to pick out my own groceries. I’m learning to appreciate how much I take for granted.
I just want to thank everyone again for all your love and support during this challenge! You have all made it easier to stay motivated and keep on the road to recovery. xoxoxo
