Cheryl’s Story

Site created on July 23, 2022

On Thursday July 21st Cheryl went to the walk in clinic with some concerns on some unsteadiness in walking and vision changes.  A lot of tests were ran and we were sent to the ER for additional testing.  After all was done we found out that she has a brain tumor and a kidney tumor.  We have a journey ahead of us but we are ready to take that head on!  Thank you for the love and support from all of her family and friends!

Hope this finds you all doing well!  It has been a busy month since our last check in!  Mom has had quite a few appointments, all going well. She has had some wonderful visits from friends and family and she loves those!  Auntie Mouse even got to town and was able to see Mom for a bit!

Monday night Mom's roommate tested positive for Covid, mom tested negative.  They moved her to a new room due to that.  She did have an appointment with Dr. Gupta and an infusion for Wednesday and they said since she was testing negative it was ok for her to go so she did and just wore a mask while we were there.  She had a rough couple of days being very tired and "out of it" after that.  Today I got there to visit and unfortunately she has tested positive for Covid as of today.  That being said she is doing good, back to her normal self for the most part, and has no symptoms of Covid at this point.  Fingers crossed it will stay that way.  If she does develop any of the symptoms the on call doctor said they will start her on Plaxovid but they don't want to add any more meds unless they have to.  They will test her every other day until she is negative.  Once she is we will let you all know so those visits can continue as she enjoys them very much!

I can't wait to get her down and outside to enjoy the nice weather we are having, aside from the crazy wind today!  I think sun and fresh air will be great for her!  Please keep the prayers, positive vibes, and love coming her way.

God Bless and Love you all!
