Journal entry by Amber Keller

So, we got to go see Chase today!! St. Luke's was so accommodating and allowed me and both our parents to come and visit Chase as well as watch and participate in his therapies. He is very strong and able to do most everything for himself. He still needs supervision when walking, as he gets easily distracted which effects his balance. We had some good conversations...his humor is still the same lol!! He does have a hard time finding the right words for things, but often after some thought he can come up with the correct word. He also has some short term memory deficits, but his doctors and therapists are hopeful that this will resolve with time.. His trach site is healing nicely....he complained that it is itchy AF!! He is eating regular food and no longer receiving feedings through his PEG tube. He is set to come home next week!! He will require a lot of structure with periods of rest and quiet time for cognitive therapy (cross words, reading and writing). I know everyone is eager to see him, but please allow us all to get into a routine and when ready we can have a few visitors at time and please call ahead before doing so. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support!!
