Charnice’s Story

Site created on February 5, 2019

Welcome to Charnice's Journey. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
For us this journey began as just a strained groin injury. At least that is what we were told to explain her leg pain. Her pain was so great that after going to urgent care twice, her primary doctor and a sports doctor, they decided to get a MRI of her thigh. The MRI was scheduled on Friday and I (mom) was scheduled for surgery the following Monday. The MRI results came in on Tuesday while I was still in the hospital recovering from a hysterectomy. The call I got was devastating.
The doctor bluntly said that "they think it's cancer." My heart dropped. I said "but it could be something else and she said no, they really think that it's cancer."  She referred me to a cancer specialist....
Through tons of testing it was discovered that she does have a rare form of Sarcoma and the cancer is widespread. This is beyond heartbreaking. It's unimaginable but it's our new reality. Everything has been especially tough. I'm still recovering from surgery and can not work for another 4 to 6 weeks.
Charnice's Journey to conjuring this disease is long and hard. She could use tons of love, warm wishes, prayers and support. Thanks for visiting.
