Newest Update

Journal entry by Bonnie Younginer

Good morning our friends and family. Wanted to send out an update and let everyone know how things are going.  Things are essentially the same.  Yesterday we had a good day with the temperature and it stayed around 100.  While this is still higher than the doctors want, at least it is not 104. The temperature is more than likely an issue with damage that he has experienced in the temperature control center of the brain.

The doctors and nurse continue to take such great care of him. I have been around hospitals all of my life and never have I seen a staff that is more compassionate or worked any harder than they have.  From the employees in the waiting room that are assisting families to interface with their loved one, to the wonderful ladies that work to keep things clean, to the medical staff, they have been right there to help in any way possible.  Those of you that know Chuck would also know how pleased he is with the fact that all of these ladies are young and cute.  I excepted the fact long ago that Chuck liked to look but his heart is mine... sorry ladies.

Today when you pray thank God for this staff that he works through.  They have a VERY stressful job dealing with critically ill patients and their concerned families. I would also ask you to pray for all the other patients and families that have people they love in the ICU.  Everyone in the waiting room has a family member or friend that is in a crisis and they need help.

We will see what today brings.. I will do my best to update as soon as I see Chuck at 8:30 AM or if there are any big changes. Please feel free to share these updates with all who are concerned and praying.  The prayer chain is large and stretches far... share with them how to login to caringbridge.  Chuck and I love you all.
