Charis’s Story

Site created on November 3, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Charis is our beautiful, smart, sweet, loving 5 1/2 year old daughter. On October 17th, after several months of increasing nausea and vomiting, we discovered that she had a large mass in her brain.  Two days later, she underwent 12 hours of surgery to remove the tumor.  The surgeon was able to get almost all of it, but pathology results came back, and more treatment is needed.  Charis’ tumor is a very rare CNS embryonal tumor NOS.  She will undergo radiation and chemotherapy through Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, TX.  She will start treatment in 1-2 weeks.  Please pray for our sweet girl, for God to give her His strength to persevere through the side effects of these treatments.  We are joined in fervent prayer by thousands across the country and overseas.  Praise God we have the body of Christ fervently petitioning Him for Charis!  As time goes on, please pray for our hearts and minds as we give her into the Lord’s hands, day after day.  Pray for her 5 brothers and sisters, especially the oldest 3, that they will cling to Jesus as they watch their sister go through this.  Lastly, pray that treatment is successful, and that the Lord is glorified.

Updates will be posted after we start treatment.
