In October 2016, Chad had was first diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumors. At that time they were found on his pancreas and a couple lymph nodes. He was able to have 1/3 of his pancreas removed as well as his spleen to remove the tumors. At that time no other treatment was needed and we went on with getting checkups every 3 months for the first year and then he went to every 6 months.
This past October of 2019, he had his regular 6 month check up. Things had been going great up until then. We were definitely shocked to have the doctor tell us that there were new tumors growing in his liver. More testing would need to be done. The next steps was to have an octreo scan done as well as a biopsy of these new spots to confirm that they were if fact cancer and that it was the same type of tumor as the first time, which all testing came back that it was again Neuroendocrine tumors.
Next, a treatment plan was made. The doctor felt that the best option to try was an octreotide shot. This would hopefully stop the growth of the tumors. Chad would receive this shot every month for 3 month’s and then plan for the first recheck.

Chad had his regular check up with his oncologist today. Yesterday he had a CT scan to see how the lutethera treatment is working. It was awesome news!!!!  No new spots, 2 spots have shrunk, and the rest are staying the same.

Plan is to continue with the last 2 lutathera treatment in July and September and the monthly octreotide shots. 

Next scan will be after the final lutethera treatment.
