Chad’s Story

Site created on March 17, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On Sunday March 10th Chad started to not feel well. He had a fever and thought he was coming down with the flu. By Tuesday he had a high fever and by Wednesday he was jaundice. He went to the ER in Ottawa where they started to draw bloodwork to test his bilirubin levels. He stayed two nights in the hospital there without any improvement. By Friday morning I was worried and knew we needed to get to a hospital that could treat him. So here we are at Loyola on a floor dedicated to Liver patients with a team of Doctors we trust.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Andrea Provost

Chad's liver number continues to get better. It is 2.6 today and .4 - 1 is normal. He is so close. We are thrilled that we don't have to do the shots anymore! I say we because I'm glad I don't have to stick him twice a day! Still waiting on those bone marrow results but at least we have the weekend off from doctor appointments!
