Sorry...only had a margarita on hand to toast you, my friend. I knew you would understand...and then I opened the empty refrigerator in the community building and there was a bottle of Tanqueray and a bottle of tonic...unopened....thanks for letting me know you’re doing fine...

We wish we could be there today, but will be in spirit! We'll raise our G&Ts to our dearly beloved Chad. He will be missed by us forever.
We are so fortunate to have known him through the years and benefited from his many gifts!
Will make it out there sometime soon to see you Barb.
Love always,
Neil and Diego

We so wish that we could be at Chad's memorial today, but we are in Mexico...we have been thinking of all of you and remembering how much we enjoyed knowing Chad and wishing we had had more time to know him even better. I will miss his bear hugs, his enthusiasm and his smile! We will toast him tonight at sunset with a G&T

I am a Peruvian student in Grad School at OSU. I met Chad and had the chance to talk with him at Lewis Brown Horticulture Farm. He was always happy, and sharing happiness with all. I really appreciate that Chad lend me his lab equipment two seasons allowing me to comply with important measurements in my studies. I remember his kindness when I introduced two Peruvian friends from the nursery industry to him at the Blueberry Field Day at the North Willamette Research and Extension Center. When they were talking I remember Chad and my friends laughing. I will always remember that he always had kindness and joy to share with every one.

You have all been in our hearts with hugs and our prayers reaching across to you as we have pondered and remembered Chad and all of you these last days. Know that you continue to be there as we look forward to seeing you on January 18 and moving into the future. Chad had a huge contingent of friends. What a gift he gave to so many. Jim and Maxine

Dear Barb,
Your family is a shining example to us all. I am so sorry that I will be away on January 18, in Maui of all places, so not able to come learn more about your remarkable husband. I'm sure that the love will just pour out and hope it will be a solace to you.
Hugs,
Kathleen
