My nickname for Chad was " Gronk". I don't remember how he got that name but every time we saw each other in the halls of Millikan he would say, loudly, "GRONK". I remember listening to him play in Steve Beatty's garage and sharing tons of laughter. He not only stood out because he was so tall and lanky, but because he had a huge, open personality. He was so much fun. I'm so sorry that he has passed away and hope his music and fun loving spirit will remain close to all of his loved ones.

I first met Chad 48 years ago. He was the first person I met when I moved into an apartment in Long Beach on Corto Place. Through him I met many people that became my long time friends. Steve Beatty, Rick Knowel, Chico Ruiz and Deon to name a few. We have all stayed close friends. Chad was so fun and entertaining. I loved him and cherished his friendship. He will never be forgotten. Love you Deon and asking the Lord to bless you through this very difficult and sad time. ❤️🙏
