Journal entry by Cathy Briggs —
I talked with my surgeon and he gave me my pathology report. It was an intermediate conventional chondrosarcoma as suspected. Margins were clear. That equates to an 81% prognosis, which is the best we could hope for under the circumstances. I am very relieved.
I continue to get a little better and have less pain, though doing literally anything sets me back. I dread showering or changing my shirt. I live in a tank top or cami and pajama bottoms. If you come visit don't expect much. Lol
The armpit from hell has finally been tamed! Nystatin and ab dressing to the rescue!! I am also able to wash under the arm more easily and we have disposable washclothes to make that easier.
Dr. said I will not be able to return to work at the 6 week mark. I will still not be allowed out of my sling for more than a few minutes a day. We really have to be careful to allow the scar tissue to build and pray it is enough to hold my shoulder in place.
Thank you for all your prayers and well-wishes. The positive energy and light makes such a huge difference in my life.
