I just read over the last five entries and it was encouraging to see all the progress Carter has made. My heart goes out to you, Leila. Being away from your husband and not being able to be with your son who is on a long traumatic journey, with Covid 19 on top of everything. That is a lot to handle. Thank goodness, God’s strength is made perfect in weakness, and it is always sufficient. You all are in my prayers.

We're thankful that you were able to go to Florida, Leila, for a joyful reunion with Chuck and Carter. We so admire his faith, and determination, as well as that of you and Chuck and the rest of your family. Our prayers continue for the Lord to keep His healing hand upon Carter and fill each of you with His comfort and strength.

I am always humbled by reading the updates on how Carter is doing. The good and glad are so evident and the sad still makes sense. It is wonderful that you were able to visit Leila and be with Chuck and Carter. The photos are wonderful! I haven't shared this with you before because this post isn't about me but since the fall, I have been treated for breast cancer that's spread although thankfully not a lot. But the treatment lowers my blood counts, which makes me more vulnerable to Covid19. I wanted Carter to know that for now I am not going to be able to volunteer on Wednesdays so won't see him when he's able to be there. But I will return and, I know he will too. Take good care all of you and be well. Much love and blessings.

Love your posts! so heartwarming as you describe the progress- honestly and openly. I realize you had to go back and forth to handle issues, work, home things with the other kids etc..but its just so heartwarming to see the father (husband) be SO selfless too, staying there as a fabulous father would. But it seems like hes a Superman (father)!! (super mom too ,but just because the father had to stay and be in the middle of this war, day in and day out. Yes, You handling just as much from afar!! For sure!!).... Of course the son, going thru this is Super impressive too...Just want to say WOW- what a selfless and super powerful way to show your kids the consistent love of staying there and being entrenched in the recovery/ 24/7 support. Cant say enough of how powerful this is from afar.

Hi Chuck, Leila, Carter, Chase, Levi,
Brittany and Erin,
Thank you for the update on the family. So
glad you could go to see Carter and
Chuck. Carter has an amazing group of people surrounding him in love and care. So thankful for these friends and family. So glad Carter is getting stronger and adjusting to the prosthetic on his arm. I continue to pray for all of you. So glad the apartment is working out. What a blessing the apartment is. I remember you and Chuck frantically trying to find the apartment. God is always on time, every time, and in the nick of time. So glad He never leaves us or forsakes us. He always meets us where we are. Sounds like you’re enjoying good meals together. .
Hopefully this whole Covid 19 levels out.
Love to you all💕

I just want to express my admiration for Carter Viss and his family. For a young man to go through such trauma and still maintain a positive, optimistic outlook is simply amazing! He apparently has a very strong faith and much resilience. Carter is also fortunate to have a very supportive family and friends, who have rallied around him throughout this tragic event. May God continue to bless you!
