Hello to the Viss family,

My dear and oldest friend, Patti , is one of the volunteers at LMC who cares so deeply about what Carter is going through and just raves about him as being helpful, bright, and
knowledgeable about everything “marine”
but most of all, just how nice he is.
This sentiment has naturally been absorbed by my husband and me.
We read the beautiful posts written by you each day with hope, tears and sadness, but also with joy for how wonderful a family Carter has.
Just wishing all of you continued love and support for your beautiful boy.

With all good wishes,
Ned and Karen Gelband.

So thankful that Carter's "left" surgery was successful! Praise God for answered prayers. It's good to read your and Leila's updates and to hear Carter is able to eat "real" food. Well, I don't know about that first meal, but meatloaf is good. We will continue to pray for Carter's healing and for your stamina. May His angels surround you and wrap you in peace.

To Carter and the rest of the Viss family:
You don’t know me and I only became acquainted with you and your family through caring bridge. I am a piano teacher in Houston, TX and am a colleague of Kay Lowry, who is, I believe, the mother of one of Carter’s friends. I saw her prayer request for Carter on FB and then a link to your Caring Bridge site and wanted to know about this person for whom I was praying. I am so unbelievably touched and inspired by this story and all of your entries that I just had to let you know. My heart goes out to all of you as you navigate this journey but I also want to let you know from a complete outsider’s perspective that it is so clear how this turn of events in God’s plan for your lives, especially Carter’s, is already having such a tremendous impact. There is nothing on this earth or in this life that is more important than glorifying the Lord and everything that happens, whether in prosperity or adversity is an opportunity to glorify Him. I wanted to let you all know how far reaching this story is and my prayers will continue for Carter as well as everyone who is involved in this journey of recovery and fulfillment of God’s plan.

You are all such witnesses of God’s presence with you through this pain! Thank you for that. It is such a surreal experience being carried by the prayers of so many others. I have experienced it myself. When I didn’t even know how to pray, it was as though I was floating somewhere above it all just looking down. It is such a comfort. We will continue interceding❤️

A "loving kindness" meditation was held for Carter yesterday. I thought you might like to see the moment:
