Dear Leila, having two sons of my own, I can only imagine how heartbroken and devastated you and Chuck must feel. Whenever I’ve felt heartsick or alone or .... God always gives me some Scripture verses to comfort me and remind me that He has not forgotten me. I hope it’s ok that I post some of those Scriptures that I run to in times like that. May God use these verses as His soothing balm to comfort your soul. I will continue to pray for Carter and you and the rest of your family. ❣️
With love, Teresa

“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces will never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them. O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want.”

Leila - Thank you for such amazingly coherent updates. I can see where Carter gets his strength. It is truly a blessing that he is off that ventilator. One small step at a time. Breathe. Cry. Pull it together. Pray. Smile. Love. Breathe again. You can do this.
Loving you and praying for all of you.

Wow, Carter, what a rock star. I am so impressed with the life you have built in Florida. We are praying for all of you often, many times a day. The Moms in Prayer group at my school, Front Range Christian, is praying for you. Thank you for sharing from your heart, Leila -- it is good to hear the progress and changes of each day. Dave and I are asking God to surround you all with his strength and patience and that you will have glimpses of his hand at work in this tough situation.
