Carter’s Story

Site created on March 7, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On March 1st Mr Carter Michael Francis made his much anticipated appearance and after 25 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing the doctors decided that Carter wanted to come out a different way, so C-Section it was!! Both mom, dad, and Carter did well and after some time together with mommy and daddy Carter started having some respiratory issues. It was decided that Carter needed to be transferred to the NICU at Woman and Infants in Providence. Before leaving the amazing people from Woman and Infants were able to get Carter intubated and on his way!
After arriving at the NICU Carter had some obstacles. He’s quite a little fire cracker and was fighting the help a little. He struggled on and off with his lungs and ended up having to have a couple things done to help him. He had a central line and pic line put in and was put on a different breathing machine along with some nitrate to help open his blood vessels open. Over all this is helping Carter on his journey to recovery!!
