Carter’s Story

Site created on January 12, 2020

Five years ago, this young couple began a relationship with Children’s Hospital of Atlanta when their firstborn son was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma at only 4 weeks of age. Every month, they would take him to CHOA for his chemo treatment, Evaluations Under Anesthesia (EUA), MRI’s, and laser treatments. But that was just the beginning of their relationship with CHOA.  Two years later, their second son was born with Retinoblastoma and the cycle of treatments, EUA’s and MRI’s began again.  Six months ago, Carter was born, cancer free, until a week ago when a few tumors were discovered in his eyes. They are about to embark on this cancer journey for the third time.
