Journal entry by Kerry Robbers

Hi Everyone!

I want to start by introducing myself for those who may not know me- my name is Kerry and I am a long time close friend of Carolyn’s.  My family is helping Carolyn through this journey, and I’m going to do my best to keep everyone up to speed on how things are going on Carolyn’s journey.

First of all, Carolyn has received many of your calls, texts and messages and appreciates all of the well wishes, gifts, prayers, and positive thoughts.  She’s been a bit overwhelmed trying to answer everyone as I’m sure you can imagine, so she suggested creating this page to keep everyone up to speed.  I’m sure she will drop some journal entries periodically as well when she feels up to it.

a quick overview of where Carolyn is at and where she is going… Carolyn is fighting Stage 2 Breast Cancer.  The areas of focus are breasts and lymph nodes.  She will have intense chemo every other week for 2 months, followed by an additional 3 months of less intense chemo, followed by surgery.

chemo round 1 was done on Tuesday.  Her doctor ordered IV fluids on Wednesday and Friday this week to help her feel a little better through the process.  They do seem to help.  She has been resting a lot which is great.  I’m glad she is able to sleep through some of this.  She is very weak and achy.  This really pisses her off! Lol. Understandably so.  She has tried hard to resist help, but I’m proud of her for slowly letting down those walls and letting people help her.  She has been eating well and has been trying to stay hydrated… she’s not happy that energy drinks are off limits, but I told her she doesn’t need energy to do anything right now other than get better.  I’m waiting for her to punch me one of these days!  Lol

we will update more soon- but I just wanted to drop in for a quick update as we wrap up the week❤️  Thank you for your continued prayers!
