After spending a short time at St. Joseph Hospital, Carol moved to the Kansas City Hospice House on September 29. While she is dealing with several challenging medical conditions, she is free of pain and cognitively well.

 

In addition to congestive heart failure, the doctors found cancer in her abdomen that was not treatable. She understands what that means and we believe she is at peace with what comes next. 

 

She is spending these days chatting with friends and family and getting the rest she deserves. The staff here are taking great care of her.

 

Because of COVID, only four of us are allowed to visit. Thankfully, we can be with her as much as we want. This is a lovely facility and we could not ask for a better place for her.
