Newest Update

Journal entry by Carol Rouse

Week 4 just beginning today since my double mastectomy. Time flies when I’m having so much fun.

Snow or more snow, I’ve been restricted to little to no movement because I couldn’t get drainage to stop. But success! As of today, they pulled the drains out. It’s a step in the right direction.  No date has been determined yet for radiation. I am assuming that I will have to wait for full recovery and radiation then to begin in April.

Update on Gman. Family and close friends were aware of our unfortunate circumstances. Just to share, my surgery was 2/4. On 2/11, Gary had a heart attack. It hadn’t presented like heart symptoms so after all night and a full work day, he made his way to the hospital. A stint was needed immediately due to 100% blockage. Lauren came home to take care of her ailing parents. Gary was home a couple days later and he’s back to work today after some needed recuperation. We were very fortunate that he made it through that ordeal! He has a hard working guardian angel!

We send our thanks out to all for thoughts and prayers. We also are blessed to have so many friends taking care of us in very generous and thoughtful ways. Thanks to Lori S, Maryanne, Libbey, Dan for wonderful meals. I’ve gotten special care packages and gifts from my besties Angie, Renee, Holly, Sandy and Alisha. And Dawn you’ve been amazing with all of your help with Dylan!
Thanks all! We’re moving along.
