Caroline’s Story

Site created on December 12, 2019

Sweet Caroline was at school having her afternoon snack and began to choke. She was brought in by ambulance to CHOA at ScottishRite. She is receiving excellent care by the wonderful staff here at CHOA. Please continue to pray that God will keep watch over her and guide the doctors as they work to help us know the next steps.  We are so grateful for the outpouring of love, support and especially prayers from all our friends and family.

Thank you to all for the outpouring of support and love we have received.  There are no words to describe how uplifted we have been by friends, family, and our community.

We wanted to update everyone on Caroline's legacy.  We agreed to organ donation in the hospital once we realized she was not going to recover.  There was not much to consider when it came down to it, it was an easy decision to make.

We received a letter recently from the organization that facilitated the organ donation process.  Caroline's kidney's went to a 29 year old woman who had been on a transplant list for over 4 years.  Her heart valves will be used to correct congenital heart defects and replace damages valves in children and adults.  Her lungs were used for research.

Knowing she has helped others to live is another confirmation of the amazing impact of her life.

Please continue to keep Caroline's smile and love in your hearts as we do.
